  Dove Tail Saw
Our dovetail saw features a Polished Swedish Spring Steel 0.020” x 3 x 8” blade with 15ppi filed rip (RC52) and minimal set. The brass back is thick and therefore the depth of cut is 2”. The brass back adds beauty and feel to the saw. My saw is unusual in the fact that the blade is a three-piece construction as opposed to two-piece. I epoxy, screw and peen the back to the spring steel blade. It's simple yet effective. This saw will track straight and cut effortlessly.

As a woodworker, I have come to appreciate furniture more and more where one can see that hand tools were used to create it One method of traditional joinery that distinguishes one craftsman from the other is the hand cut dovetail. When I first started cutting dovetails by hand (and that's the onlyway I've ever done it), I used a Japanese dozuki. My results were acceptable, however, I never found the dozuki comfortable to use.

When I realized that my comfort was important to me, it was the same time that my search for an old, comfortable, good quality dovetail saw began. Up here in Canada, it was a very difficult undertaking, and I soon grew frustrated. It was then that I decided to make my own saw. After a number of experiments and testing, I finally have a product that is excellent in workmanship and performance. The STW Dovetail Saw is beautifully crafted and fully guaranteed.
